Our Challenge

Create an on-premise sampling program for LGBTQ accounts in three key California markets focused on establishing Jose Cuervo’s allyship and support of the LGBTQ community, while also gaining account pickups.

Our Solution

Partner with the VGL sports league to give the brand an immediate audience following weekly meetups at LGBTQ accounts. By sponsoring the league, brand ambassadors were able to deliver brand messaging points and facilitate a liquid-to-lips trial.

Our Response

Established hundreds of influential brand loyalists who continue to call on Cuervo when they go out to the bars, building brand affinity in each of the local markets that helped gain new points of distribution for the Cuervo brand in LGBTQ accounts.

Our Challenge

Create a national strategic and tactical 21SEEDS brand guide for local field teams to use in their efforts to engage and activate in the LGBTQ market.

Our Solution

We developed an LGBTQ activation playbook that provides background, insights, strategy, messaging and activation ideas that can be leveraged by local field teams to engage LGBTQ accounts and consumers, build LGBTQ programming, partner with LGBTQ organizations/non-profits, and build brand authenticity within the LGBTQ community.

SPI received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the national and local teams that this asset is what they needed to help activate and execute during Pride and beyond (Pride is 365).

Direct Wines


Our Challenge

To take a well-established direct to consumer wine club model and test the viability of extending into the LGBTQ market – increasing its footprint.

Our Solution

Collaborate with local and national LGBTQ media partners in several test markets to deploy digital assets featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jackie Cox, develop custom content linked to the brand, and leverage email lists to deliver a unique LGBTQ wine box offer heading into National Rosé Day.

Our Challenge

Expand the widespread loyalty and affinity for Absolut Vodka in the U.S. to include the younger LGBTQ consumer (21-30) and drive case sales for the new Absolut flavors in the on-premise.

Increased brand visibility and awareness among LGBTQ consumers, building critical brand credibility from the ground up and valuable data for the client to utilize in future campaign planning. Coincidentally, the profile for National Rosé Day was also elevated among the LGBTQ segment.

Brand health metrics exceeded KPIs with over 90% of key demographic recognizing the brand’s involvement and partnership, reinforcing Absolut Vodka’s support of the LGBTQ community while driving sales in LGBTQ accounts up by as much as 20%. SPI’s program received accolades including the GLAAD Amplifier Award for “Outstanding LGBT TV Campaign” and recognition as a finalist for ANA’s Multicultural Excellence Award.
